Our Parishes
The parishes of the Edgehill Churches - Radway, Ratley, Shotteswell and Warmington - are the same four areas for civil and church purposes.
They lie within Warwickshire on the border with Oxfordshire, at the very edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and within the Diocese of Coventry.
These are conservation areas with a rich history, notably from the Civil War. The battle of Edgehill was fought in and around Radway in 1642.
The total population of the area is some 1,100 people, and includes professional people - a number of them working from home - farmers and rural workers, young people and the retired. The proximity of the motorway makes it possible for some to commute to the cities of the Midlands and to London.
The villages are similar in size, and most of the houses as well as the churches are built from the glowing, golden Hornton stone. The Hornton quarry is in the parish of Ratley.
